I am curious about what your thoughts are on the most efficient way to utilize recallplus.
I agree with what people have said here, that it is important to review as you go along. What I am wondering is how far I should take it.
If I review IMMEDIATELY every time the red button comes up, it is really disruptive because I have to stop mid-slide and then get my bearings again. It takes a little time to transition between the two modes, but I realize that going over and over it again is uber important. So, should I stop and review after ever page, or two pages, or a chapter? What have you guys found most efficient? |

I don't think there is a 'formal study' to prove one way over another.
I think everyone does it slightly differently.
Personally, I will tend to continue and finish what I am working on, then do some testing.
Some prefer to use 'final drill' functionality at the end of the day... especially if they are coming up to an exam in the very near future.
The KEY thing to understand, is that when you are learning new material, the material you learnt recently is used to build links to the material you are reading right now. Therefore if you don't KNOW the material from before, then you will have more trouble learning the next Material.
Those of us who are mad keen on the new way of thinking about education... specifically that processing is more important than just remembering, will also recognise that it is hard to link things together in the mind with MEANING, if you did not remember the prior material either.
If the material is not important enough that you really need to revise it, a strong case can be made for not even putting it into RP.

I, too, struggle with the best way of using RP and testing. Often there is just so much I need to learn I barely have enough time to create the cards, let alone do regular testing. But I do recognise that it is important to test, otherwise I may as well draw them by hand.
Also, I need to get smarter in the way I create the cards. I tend to try and put all info on a topic onto the card, and they get very big and crowded. I think I need to try and simplify the cards down so that they are easier to create, easier to learn, and easier to test.
A current example is asthma. I have a card with everything on it. But looking at it now I think I should break it down into a card on the pathophysiology of asthma, a card on how you diagnose, a card on how you treat, a card on the complications etc.
Is that what others do? |

Right clicking on an Idea that is at the head of a branch that should be on a child Card enables you to choose 'Wormhole this idea and children - NEW CARD'.
Make sure you choose new card.
I would make it smaller as needed.
